Bollywood's famous director Rajkummar Santoshi has been jailed for two years in a bank fraud case.
According to Indian media, a court in Jamnagar has ordered the director to pay twice the required amount to the plaintiff with a sentence of two years.
Raj Kumar Santoshi took a loan of one crore from a person named Ashok Lal in 2015 and in 2016 gave him two checks of ten lakhs which bounced.
After several attempts to contact the director, Ashok Lal filed a case in court, the decision of which has now come out.
On the other hand, Raj Kumar Santoshi is busy with preparations for the shooting of his new film 'Lahore 1947' in which Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta will play the lead roles while Aamir Khan will give a special look.
The Jamnagar Court in Gujarat allowed filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi a 30-day stay on an order to appeal the order, as per news agency ANI. This allows the director to challenge the verdict in a higher court. He was recently sentenced to two years imprisonment by a Jamnagar court in a cheque bounce case.
