Pakistani actor Nisar Qadri, known for his brilliant performances on Pakistan Television (PTV), passed away on Sunday at the age of 82 in Rawalpindi after battling a prolonged illness. The veteran actor, survived by his wife and three children, will be laid to rest on Monday in Rawalpindi. In 2016, Qadri received the prestigious President’s Pride of Performance award in recognition of his exceptional acting skills, showcased in numerous PTV drama serials.
Nisar Qadri initiated his acting career with PTV's "Deewarein" in 1966 and went on to portray diverse characters in TV dramas, films, theatre, and radio dramas. He gained popularity for his iconic dialogue "Machis Hogi Aap Kay Paas?" from the acclaimed drama serial "Ik Haqeeqat Ik Afsana." Despite health concerns leading to a hiatus from new roles, Qadri's contribution to the entertainment industry was significant, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his audience.
His passing was confirmed by actor Nabeel Zafar, and the news of his demise has left a void in the Pakistani entertainment landscape. The funeral prayers for the late actor are scheduled for tomorrow in Rawalpindi, marking the end of a prolific career that spanned over five decades.
