The much-anticipated release of Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" is set to clash with Prabhas' "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire" at the box office.
As the release date for Shah Rukh Khan's third film of 2023, "Dunki," approaches, the advance booking numbers are making headlines. According to sacnilk.com, the film has accumulated a substantial $173,600 crore through advance bookings. Directed by the acclaimed Rajkumar Hirani, "Dunki" boasts a star-studded cast including Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. It's worth noting that "Dunki" recently received a U/A certificate after necessary modifications were made.
On the first day of the advance booking report, a total of 33,770 tickets for "Dunki" were sold across 2,836 Hindi shows. However, the film faces a crucial challenge as it goes head-to-head with Prabhas' "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire" in the coming days.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel expressed optimism about "Dunki" initial pre-sale, highlighting the sale of over 10,000 tickets at national chain multiplexes. He remarked that if this momentum persists, "Dunki" could emerge as a strong contender among the top films of 2023 in terms of final advance bookings. The next three days are expected to provide a clearer picture of the film's opening day success.
In the battle of advance bookings, "Salaar" has also made a significant impact, surpassing 1 crore. The regional breakdown includes 80.30 lakh in Telugu, 21.03 lakh in Malayalam, 1.76 lakh in Tamil, and 1900 in Kannada. In Hindi, "Salaar" secured 972 tickets for 67 shows, generating 2.06 lakh.
