Director Vikas Bahl, known for his work on films like Super 30 and Queen, is set to venture into the supernatural thriller genre with his upcoming project titled "Shaitaan." The film boasts a star-studded cast featuring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika in lead roles and is scheduled to hit screens on March 8, 2024.
While the plot of "Shaitaan" has been kept under wraps, the recently revealed poster showcases five voodoo dolls, sparking curiosity about the storyline and suggesting a theme centered around black magic. Ajay Devgn, Madhavan, and Jyotika took to social media to share the intriguing poster and announce the film's release date.
Ajay Devgn posted, " #Shaitaan is coming for you. Taking over cinemas on 8th March 2024," while Madhavan mentioned, "The reign of #Shaitaan is upon us," and Jyotika expressed, "It's time to witness the rise of #Shaitaan." Interestingly, this film marks Jyotika's return to Hindi cinema after a hiatus, and it also serves as the debut for Janki Bodiwala.
"Shaitaan" is a collaborative effort presented by Jio Studios, Ajay Devgn Ffilms, and Panorama Studios International. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. The music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with promises from the makers that it will redefine the horror genre.
Fans are buzzing with excitement, although some speculations have arisen about whether "Shaitaan" is a remake of Krishnadev Yagnik’s 2023 Gujarati film Vash. The makers have yet to respond to these claims.
As for the lead cast, Ajay Devgn's latest appearance was in the 2023 film "Bholaa," a remake of the Tamil film "Kaithi." His upcoming projects include "Singham Again," "Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha," "Raid 2," and "Maidaan." Madhavan, acclaimed for the mini-series "The Railway Men," will be seen in upcoming works such as "Test," "The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair," "Amriki Pandit," and an untitled Tamil film. Jyotika, whose last film "Kaathal - The Core" received positive reviews, is set to appear in "Sri" and "Dabba Cartel."
