Sofia Vergara Says ‘My Acting Carrier is Limited’

Sofia Vergara doesn't mince words when it comes to "limited" career options for her in Hollywood.

The 51-year-old actress is currently making headlines for her title role as a Colombian drug trafficker in the biographical crime drama Griselda.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, she opened up about her lack of television appearances, noting that she's "always looking for characters because I can't do much with this stupid accent."

The feature film Nayaab will hit theaters on January 26

"I can't play a scientist or be on Schindler's List," Vergara joked, adding, "My acting jobs are a little limited."

In the Netflix miniseries, the Modern Family alum played the role of a drug lord who led a life of crime in a Colombian town in the 20th century.

The actress opened up about the effort she put into researching the role effectively before filming, telling People: "I really had to explore what it meant to be a woman at that time. Um, a Colombian woman...turned into a monster. It so was a very difficult task for me to understand it.

However, she had someone close to her who had a similar experience, who she could turn to to better understand the character.
